Call for Indigenous people to be exempt from land taxes ‘the wrong thing to do’ [Video]

Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says the call from an Indigenous elder for Aboriginal people to be exempt from land taxes is the “wrong thing to do”.

“You can’t keep people living off these kind of welfare handouts,” Mr Kroger told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

“On the basis of what happened 200 years ago.

“It is not good for them; it is not good for the country.

“It is never a good thing to divide this country by race … it is the wrong thing to do.”
