It will soon be easier for many Ontarians to renew their driver’s licence.
The Ford government announced Friday that they are implementing “a more convenient process” for those aged 80 and older.
The province said that starting on Feb. 3, drivers in that age group will be able to renew their driver’s licence and complete mandatory vision and cognitive screening assessments in one visit at select ServiceOntario locations.
By the end of the Spring, the service will available at all ServiceOntario locations around the province, the government said.
Drivers aged 80 and older have to renew their G- or M-class licences every two years.
They previously had to go to a separate location to have vision and cognitive screening assessments before proceeding to a ServiceOntario location, the government said.
