Federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault announces a $9.5-million investment to expand the Clean Energy Financing program to more municipalities in Nova Scotia. The expansion is intended to support the loans provided for homeowners to reduce energy costs through home efficiency upgrades. Donna Hatt (economic development officer for Bridgewater), Geoff Stewart (deputy mayor of Colchester and vice-president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities) and Scott Skinner (president and CEO of the Clean Foundation) also take part in the news conference in Bridgewater.
The minister faces questions from reporters about the opposition to the federal carbon price, which is scheduled to increase on April 1.
