Amid high mortgage interest rates and with the average price of a Toronto home sitting at $1.02 million, wishful homebuyers are becoming jaded. A recent survey from Mortgage Professionals Canada found that 48 per cent of Canadians who don’t own a home believe they never will.
But one Toronto couple’s experience shows there’s reason for hope, even in this unpredictable market. With persistence and perseverance, they were able to make a down payment on their “forever” home — using their own hard-earned savings and without any help from family.
