Israeli forces launched a raid on al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City after they said the medical complex, which is Gaza’s largest, had been used to launch attacks on their soldiers. Daniel Hagari, the Israeli army spokesperson, claimed that senior Hamas members had ‘regrouped’ in the hospital. Israel launched its attack overnight, with gunfire continuing into the early morning, and said it was now in control of the hospital. Israel last launched a raid on the complex in November and that drew widespread international condemnation. Gaza health authorities said there had been casualties and injuries as a result of the raid
