LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – Police responded to a fatal crash in Brunswick County Tuesday evening, March 26, according to a spokesperson with Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Per the BCSO, 43-year-old Travis Bryan Stanley from Leland was struck and killed near Lanvale Road. The scene was cleared as of 8:39 p.m.

The next day, the BCSO announced that 22-year-old Christopher Michael Ganey from Leland was arrested in New Hanover County Wednesday morning.

“Ganey fled the scene following the incident. He was located and apprehended in New Hanover County earlier this morning. He is currently being processed by BCSO Detectives and will be booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility,” a BCSO announcement states.
