Pro-Palestian protesters camped out on Rutgers University’s College Avenue Campus in New Brunswick have prompted school officials to cancel final exams and other activities scheduled for Thursday morning at the campus.
The state university made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) shortly before 8 a.m.
“Please contact your dean for further information,” the Rutgers-New Brunswick account said. “Activities on all other campuses will proceed as planned.”
Final exams at Rutgers start Thursday and run through May 8.
Two Rutgers student groups — Students for Justice in Palestine and the Endowment Justice Collective — issued a press advisory about a protest starting at 7 a.m. Thursday on Voorhees Mall to call for finals to be canceled.
