SOGI 123: What is it and why are people protesting over it? [Video]

A school resource promoting acceptance of gender and family diversity is generating controversy and splitting the opinions of parents and politicians in British Columbia and Alberta.

The program at the centre of it all is called SOGI 123, or Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity.

The numbers are meant to demonstrate that creating an inclusive environment can be as easy as 1-2-3, but it appears getting all parents on board has not been as smooth.

Protests and counter-protests have sprung up over the years and debate has even reached the top levels of provincial politics.

But amid all the support, opposition, information and misinformation, what exactly is this program and what does the evidence tell us about it?
