WRIGHTSTOWN Wis. WFRV – Turner Street Music Hall hosted their “Drumming-made Sacred” event.

The event celebrates the indigenous tradition of drumming, which Kaaren Thomas says allows people to bond and heal, find joy, and foster community.

“Coming together and drumming builds community, drumming itself builds your connection with the source, and then we’re trying to show that it is universal, no matter where you come from, drumming is in your background,” explained Thomas.

Turner Street Music Hall president Walter Croll says the nonprofit organization takes pride in highlighting local music.

“It’s really interesting and a great opportunity for people to not only get to know the culture but really have a hands-on experience with it,” said Croll.

Thomas plans to spread joy through drums.

“We all come from the same source. We all have the same ancestorial tribal background, and we don’t have to have division anymore, and drumming is one way of achieving that,” stated Thomas.
