ROCHESTER, Minn. – The United Way of Olmsted County is helping BIPOC community members become more involved in Rochester after hosting a community involvement session on Feb. 7. BIPOC is an acronym for black, indigenous and other people of color.
A panel of local BIPOC individuals who have helped shape the future of Olmsted County spoke about their lived experiences and how they have navigated sharing their voice and stepping into power.
Participants also had the opportunity to have small group discussions on creating a stronger BIPOC community here in Rochester. Attendees told me some of their biggest takeaways.
