Whether you’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, spring break or Persian New Year, there’s lots to do in Vancouver this weekend. Here are a few options.

St. Patrick’s Day celebrations

The downtown area will see two free street festivals in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day this weekend.

The larger event is CelticFest, which will take place in šxʷƛ̓ənəqXwtl’e7énḵ Square, the north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery, on Saturday. Music, food, drinks and activities for kids will begin at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

Headliners Chasing Abbey are scheduled to take the stage at 8:20 p.m. The full schedule and more information can be found in the festival guide

On Sunday, it’s Gastown’s turn. The neighbourhood’s business improvement society is organizing a St. Patrick’s Day street party for the first time in five years.
