On Monday afternoon, millions of people across the country witnessed an awe-inspiring astronomical event: a total solar eclipse.The eclipse, which peaked at about 80% coverage in our area, was the first of its kind since August 2017, nearly seven years ago!If you missed this one however, you’re wait is going to be a bit longer this time around.The next time a total solar eclipse will be visible in North America is in 2033, but only Alaska will be in position to see it. Eleven years later, Western Canada, Montana and North Dakota will be in the audience for 2044’s eclipse.Finally, in 2045, Alabamians will once again have the opportunity to see a coast-to-coast eclipse.So make sure to put your eclipse glasses in a safe place and start looking for flights and hotels now, you’ve only got 21 years left to plan your perfect eclipse experience.
