Woman assaulted in Etobicoke suffers serious injuries [Video]

A woman suffered serious injuries when a man struck her with a piece of wood on board a TTC bus in Etobicoke this morning, Toronto police say.

It happened near Islington Avenue and The Queensway shortly before 5:30 a.m.

Police said a TTC bus was stopped at the intersection when a man approached a woman on the bus.

He allegedly assaulted her with a piece of wood before fleeing the area

Police said the female victim was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Wednesday afternoon, police released a photo of the suspect, who is described as between 30 and 40 years old, five-foot-five tall, approximately 150 pounds with a thin build, a black beard and black dreadlocks.
