Zachary Rolfe details culture of NT Police racism at Kumanjayi Walker coronial inquest | 7.30

Warning: This story contains strong racist language and the image of an Aboriginal person who has died.

More than four years ago, an attempt to arrest an Aboriginal man in central Australia ended with the man’s death.

Police officer Zachary Rolfe was acquitted of all charges over the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Kumanjayi Walker. He has fronted a long-running coronial inquest into the death to answer new questions about his conduct on the job, and the culture within the Northern Territory police force.

Ella Archibald-Binge and Melissa Mackay report.
