PLACERVILLE, Calif. — A Placerville restaurant is the latest winner of Food Network’s new show “Best Bite in Town.”
Enchanted Forest Dining Experience won with its Irish Gold Miner’s Pasty Pie, which is a half-moon pastry filled with corned beef, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, caraway seeds and sprinkled with edible 24K gold.
“It was so exciting to share our unique Enchanted Forest-themed restaurant with the world and such a heartwarming honor to win Best Bite in Town,” said Kaitlyn Keyt, the creator and owner. “The feeling was an overwhelming, surreal emotion that I can honestly say I had never felt before.”
The Enchanted Forest won $5,000 with another $5,000 for their favorite charity. Keyt said they chose an animal rescue sanctuary for the charity.
