FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – The Poker Creek Port of Entry (POE) opening has been delayed from its original scheduled opening of May 17.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has revealed it will be closed until further notice and is still scheduled to close for the season on Sept. 15. The opening and closing dates are determined based on weather conditions so dates are subject to change under short notice.
Once opened, the hours of operation will remain the same as last year, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Alaska Standard Time or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Yukon Standard Time.
Travelers should avoid bringing Canadian-sourced firewood into the U.S. Further information abut entering Canada can be found here.
