Provincial immigration results March 29-April 5, 2024 | Canada Immigration Explore

In this video, I would like to talk about Ontario Gets Bigger Slice of Provincial Nominee Pie, Other Provinces Hold Draws.Good news for aspiring immigrants! Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received a significant boost in 2024 allocations, jumping from 16,500 to 21,500 nominations. This increase aligns with recent discussions between federal and provincial immigration ministers about giving provinces more control over immigration decisions.Nationally, the focus on PNP is growing. Canada plans to welcome 110,000 new permanent residents through PNP programs in 2024, surpassing the number coming via Express Entry.British Columbia: Held draws across multiple categories, inviting candidates with experience in childcare, healthcare, and construction. Minimum scores varied by category. Alberta: Invited healthcare professionals with job offers and a CRS score of 300 or above.Prince Edward Island: Held a draw for skilled workers and Express Entry candidates in healthcare, manufacturing, and early childhood education.Looking for more information? Check the official websites of each province’s PNP for details on specific programs and eligibility requirements.Ontario has unveiled its 2024 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allocation, with three provinces nominating candidates in the latest draws. The province received a 21,500-nomination allocation for this year, marking a 5,000 increase from 2023’s 16,500. This bump in allocation follows the November meeting of the Federation of Ministers Responsible for Immigration (FMRI), where provincial immigration ministers, alongside federal Immigration Minister Marc Miller, discussed immigration’s impact on their regions. Each province and territory (excluding Quebec and Nunavut) annually receives nominations for its PNP from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), although not all provinces disclose their allocations publicly. The increase in allocations for 2024 aligns with calls from provinces and territories at the FMRI meeting for greater control over provincial nominations and higher allocations, reflected in Canada’s plan to welcome 110,000 new permanent residents through the PNP this year, surpassing the federal Express Entry program. In March 2023, FMRI endorsed a multi-year levels plan for PNP allocations, enabling provinces to plan local infrastructure to support both existing populations and newcomers. Ontario, however, hasn’t announced notional allocations for the next two years. Here are the provincial immigration results for March 29 to April 5:British Columbia: On April 3, British Columbia invited 83 candidates across four draws of the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). The largest draw invited 30 candidates from five categories, requiring minimum scores ranging from 107 to 130.Alberta: The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued 48 invitations to candidates in the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with an Alberta job offer. This Express Entry aligned stream required candidates to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300 or higher.Prince Edward Island: On April 4, PEI issued 66 invitations to Labour and Express Entry candidates in healthcare, manufacturing, and early childhood education sectors. This was PEI PNP’s first draw of the month and the sixth for the year.
