ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The second winter low to hit the state is bringing in a familiar combination of high winds, rain and snow.
Starting in the Aleutians, where the storm center is rotating, high wind warnings are up. Shemya and Amchitka could see gusts to 85 mph, and in Adak and Atka, gusts to 75 mph.
The west coast Interior from the lower Yukon and Innoko River Valley north to the Kobuk and Koyukuk valleys will see an ongoing winter weather advisory. Winds gusting to 35 mph could reduce visibility on trails and roads.
Blizzard warnings start from Point Lay and continue to Wainwright, with wind gusts 45-55 mph. Advisories pick up as you move east past Utqiagvik.
